How Do I Enable Two-Factor Authentication for Signing?

You must be an Administrator on your Concord account to enable this setting.

Concord can require signers to verify their identity via SMS or email before completing a signature. This adds an extra layer of security to the signing process.

How to Enable Double Authentication

  1. Click the gear icon at the bottom-left corner of the screen to open Settings
  2. Go to Company > Preferences
  3. To require 2FA for external guests, check the box: "Signature: Require double authentication for external guest users"
  4. To require 2FA for internal users, check the box: "Signature: Require double authentication for your users"
  5. In the dropdown that appears, choose the authentication method:

- Email — signer receives a verification code by email

- SMS — signer receives a verification code by text message

- Either — signer chooses their preferred method

What Signers Experience

When double authentication is enabled, signers will be asked to enter a verification code after clicking the Sign button. They must enter the code before their signature is recorded.

This applies to all documents signed in your Concord account — it cannot be enabled per-document.

Important Notes

  • You can enable 2FA for external guests, internal users, or both — they are separate settings
  • Signers must have a valid email address or phone number on file to receive the verification code
  • This setting applies account-wide and affects all documents going forward
